11-Year-Old Boy Started His Own Animal Shelter, And You Won’t Believe How Many Animals He Saved

Even though you might live a normal life and don’t have that many problems, this is not the case for everyone. A young boy from the Philippines realized that the world wasn’t fair to everyone when he was just 11 years old and decided to be the change he wants to see in the world.  He is called Ken and he created his own animal shelter!

Ken loves cats as much as he does dogs. As you can see from this picture, Ken doesn’t shy away from holding a flea-ridden cat tight in his arms. This is quite extraordinary, especially when considering how young Ken is. You will be amazed to see how good this cat looks after spending some time around Ken.

One of the worst cases that Ken and his group ever stumbled upon was when he found a group of abandoned puppies. This broke Ken’s heart and he knew that he needed to give them a chance to survive. Let’s move on to the next picture and see how one of the dogs looks after spending a couple of months in Ken’s special animal shelter.

Ken named this dog Einstein and to make things even better, the dog is trying to recreate Einstein’s famous picture where he holds his tongue out. Scroll down to see another dog that’s been named after one of the world’s most famous scientists.

This little guy is called Newton and Ken says that he is one of the calmest dogs he ever met. Newton might be a little bit camera shy, but no one can deny that he is a cute dog! Although, caring for so many strays can be expensive. How is Ken getting money for their food and housing?

9. Kind People

Considering that Ken is only 11 years old, we think it’s safe to assume that he doesn’t make any money. Ken says that his shelter is being sustained by donations from kind people. At first, he didn’t have any help from strangers but as soon as he started posting pictures of the dogs he saved, donations started coming in.

8. Expensive Food

Feeding all these strays is expensive and Ken says that all of this wouldn’t be possible without donations. The food is what costs the most because Ken houses tens of dogs and not all of them are lucky enough to be adopted. However, Ken doesn’t pay that much attention to money…

7. Happy to Help

Money doesn’t matter that much for Ken because he is happy to help others in need. Just take a look at the next pictures and you will see how happy Ken is after helping stray dogs make a full recovery and get in better health.

6. Big Smile

4. Goofing Around

One of the things that Ken loves the most about working at an animal shelter is getting to play around all day long. The puppies love his playful attitude as well. Although, this is not the thing that matters the most to Ken.

3. Saving Strays

According to Ken, the only thing that really matters is to give a helping hand to those in need. Ken found his calling in saving puppies and it’s amazing to see what he is doing at such a young age.

2. Role Model

Even though Ken is just 11 years old, he is making a bigger difference in the world than the most of us. Let’s hope that more people follow in his footsteps, especially in countries where stray dogs are a real issue.

1. Young and Brave

Despite being a little kid, Ken is setting an example for how everyone should act. This is a rare thing to see from an 11 years old kid, but it shows why Ken is so special. Let’s just hope he keeps saving more puppies as he grows up.
