This weekend, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is expected to make bank at the box office. While that is good news for it’s web-slinging star Andrew Garfield, the actor debuts in an even more interesting role in which he’s dressed in drag for the music video to Arcade Fire’s “We Exist”.
Decked out in a blond wig, white dress, and pink bandolier mask, the British actor saunters around the party while scenes intermix of the movie star shaving his head.
The new music video by Arcade Fire depicts a son’s struggle as he reveals his homosexuality to his father. Filled with may pro-gay marriage messages, the song marks the first major single off of their new Reflektor album. The video’s announcement also comes at the start of Arcade Fire’s latest world tour taking them from Atlanta to the world’s major cities before finishing up in Montreal.
Not only is this hot on the heels of the Spider-man sequel but also Garfield’s hosting of Saturday Night Live, making this a very large weekend for the actor. Garfield, who is currently dating actress Emma Stone, vocalized his support of Arcade Fire early in 2012. The band must have heard him loud and clear, leading to this unique appearance in the video.
Check out the teaser for the video here and we’ll be on the lookout for the video debut.
