One of the most anticipated film adaptations of a bestselling book now has a music video containing exclusive footage from the movie.  “Let Me In” by Indie/Alternative Rock band Grouplove is the first official music video for “The Fault in Out Stars”.  The film, an adaptation of the bestselling young adult novel by John Green, is eagerly awaited by passionate fans of the book.

The song acts as a demand for affection with the high energy chorus of “Gimme, gimme that love, I’ll be waitin’ for ya’/Catch my hand, I’ll be fightin’ for ya” before transitioning to a slower, satisfied “Now I’m findin’ out that all I know is right at home/So I’m tellin’ the man my plan to never feel alone” while the video depicts the band’s performance on an empty yet back-lit highway intercut with scenes from the film featuring Shaliene Woodley and Ansel Elgort.  Those who fear spoilers should be undeterred from viewing the video as nothing of consequence is revealed.  On the contrary, It may actually pique the interest of those still on the fence.

The video is a huge break for the Los Angeles based band, who have spent the past five years gradually growing as a premier band in the industry. Most listeners know Grouplove best from their 2011 single Tongue Tied off of their debut album Never Trust a Happy Song.  Since then their work has been featured on many sports shows and covered on the TV show Glee.  It’s safe to say that this video will only add to their exposure.

The Fault in Our Stars tells the budding friendship between Hazel Lancaster and Augustus Waters, two teenagers living with inoperable cancer.  Throughout their conversations and exploits the two grow closer as they try to find meaning in the terrible situation fate has left them in.  The book became an extremely popular sell in 2012, reaching #1 on the New York Times Best Seller List.  Following a showering of awards and enthusiastic reviews the rights were sold and immediately fast tracked for film production by Fox 2000.

Watch the video here and be on the lookout for The Fault in Our Starts when it comes to theaters June 6th.
