Country Singer Luke Bryan has announced a very interesting stop on his “That’s My Kind of Night” Tour for September 14th: The Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn. This unexpected concert addition will make Bryan the first country act to perform in the Venue’s two year history. Bryan’s arrival speaks to the steady growth of Country Music into the mainstream and more specifically its movement into Northern, Urban cities.

Bryan is known for his enthusiastic concerts, recently getting stitches for an overzealous tumble over the stage. His enthusiasm is sure to carry over when performing at the Barclay’s Center which can hold 19,000 people during a concert. “That’s My Kind of Night” Concert tour has capitalized on the increasing fanbase for Bryan as well as his recent Billboard Country Music Award wins for Top Country Artist and Top Country Album.

“Brooklyn is such an amazing area and it’s incredible the thought of my country self in the heart of Brooklyn.” The 37 year old Country Star elated. “It’s Just Amazing” The singer will later sing in Madison Square Garden the following January, though he claims to be extra nervous for both New York performances.

Luke Bryan will be the first of many Country Concerts in Brooklyn according to Barclay’s Center CEO Brett Yormark. “We’re very excited about it,” said Yormark, “Our goal for our concert business is to continue to expand the volume and variety of our offering.” It is unkown what other country artists will be next in line for the venue, but with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Justin Bieber, and Katy Perry having already performed there the sky is the limit.

While the Barclay’s center has already been the site of many different concerts, including the inaugural Jay-Z concert and this past years Miley Cyrus infamously twerk-filled MTV Music Video Awards. The Center is also home to the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets who relocated to their new home from New Jersey in 2012. The Center also has ice rink capabilities allowing for ice concerts and paving the way for a future hockey team. If the past two years are any indication, The Barclay’s Center will only get busier and busier.

Tickets for Luke Bryan’s Brooklyn concert can be purchased here on the Barclay’s Main Website.
