Earlier in the year we reported on how revolutionary Jack White’s upcoming album Lazaretto would be. Now this revolutionary record is achieving revolutionary record sales, with over 138,000 copies being sold in a week. The revolutionary Vinyl version of the album sold an impressive 40,000 copies, making it the fastest selling Vinyl of all time. Both of these impressive numbers were enough to debut Lazaretto at the top of the Billboard Hot 200 and Billboard Vinyl Album’s chart, respectively.

Those who opted for the Vinyl version of the album over the CD were treated to far more bells and whistles. In addition to owning one of the biggest albums of the year ,Vinyl owners are treated with two secret tracks unlcoked by playing the album at two different speeds, dual groove technology that provides acoustic and electronic versions of songs, and the novelty of a dancing angel on their vinyl thanks to a hand made hologram by Tristan Duke of Infinity Light Silence. For those curious about the hologram, MTV reporter Brenna Ehrlich uploaded footage of the spinning anger on Instagram. Check it out and marvel at the future of music.

Earlier in the Month White appeared on the Conan O’Brien late night show. The host marveled at White’s attention to detail for the album. “You press these in Nashville, you have your own factory in Nashville,” informed the Host, to which White explained “We just thought if we can put as many things as we could into this one record what can we accomplish… We got away with a lot of things and discovered new things that have never been done before.. This is my proudest moment with Third Man Records… because we put our whole team behind trying to make it happen.”

This gigantic release comes in the middle of Jack White’s current tour which takes him from Europe to the U.S. and back again to close out at the O2 arena in London on November 19th.  The vinyl and CD version of Lazaretto can be ordered at Jack White’s website along with mp3 versions of the individual songs. Tickets for his current tour can also be purchased on his site.
