From August 1-3, Lollapalooza 2014 will dominate Grant Park in Chicago for a 3-day weekend festival (following a similar 3 day festival hosted by Pitchfork in July). Musical shenanigans are to be expected, and for the first time in the festival’s history Red Bull TV will be broadcasting a live stream of the event with 3 channels. The stream will feature backstage interviews and high quality footage of the 5 main stages. More than 100 artists will grace 5 different stages, there’s enough to keep audiences entertained for weeks. In total Red Bull will have over 200 hours of footage for the live stream, which beams out to computers, mobile devices, Xbox360, and Kindle Fire. Indie-pop and electronic music appear to be the dominant genres. Flume, Darkside, Jagwar Ma, Foster the People, Chance the Rapper, Eminem, Calvin Harris, and Phantogram are just a few of the many acts to expect live sets from. Sal Masekela, best known for his role as a host on Red Bull Signature Series on NBC Sports, will host the live stream, covering exclusive artist interviews,behind-the-stage access, unique point-of-view covers, and festival highlights.
