Faith Evans is returning the music scene with her first studio album in four years, upcoming album Incomparable. She told The Jasmine Brand that the LP will be released October 28th. The album will feature several guest artists including Keyshia Cole, Tevin Campbell, Missy Elliott, Sharaya J., and Karen-Clark Sheard. BMG Chrysalis U.S. will be releasing the album through a worldwide BMG Artist Services and exclusive publishing deal. Evans said, “I am truly proud to join the forces of my imprint, Prolific Music Group, with BMG to present my next project, Incomparable. I look forward to a great partnership, as we are all very excited about this amazing collection of timeless R&B music.”

BMG Chrysalis North America’s chief creative officer, Zach Katz, is just as excited about the collaborative project as Evans herself is, especially as it will be her first album since 2010’s Something About Faith. “Faith is part of an elite group of artists whose music and spirit speaks profoundly to generations of listeners. We warmly welcome her to our BMG family and look forward to sharing her powerful body of work with the world.” In anticipation of the release of Incomparable, Evans’ eighth studio album, she has released the LP’s lead single, “I Deserve It” which features both Missy Elliott and Sharaya J.  Only time will tell if this new work will end up a Grammy nominee just like previous album Faith Evans R&B Divas was for the category of Best R&B Album.

The lead single “I Deserve It” is a snappy track, a good representation of the album as a whole. It’s summery, full of feel-good vibes, loaded will self-praise, and promises not to settle on anything less than she deserves when it comes to picking a man. “Ay boy you got to do me proper / If  you wanna locker her / Long as you act right / You don’t need no Oscar,” are lyrics that clearly denote her determination to do right for herself, especially in the romance department. Missy Elliot opens the track with her throaty yelps and MC-style calls to bring Evans’ vocals in. Sharaya J. and Evans blend smoothly together on the backing vocals, chanting, “Cuz a girl like me is worth it / And I want the best because I deserve it.” The trio pump up the girl power all the way on this track.
