NJE’s music video for “I Remember…” is shot entirely in black-and-white, enhancing the “memory” effect as NJE takes a walk down memory lane and reminisces about all things he fondly recalls from his childhood. Perhaps it is his baby boy who is causing him to trip – his son is featured in the video, as a veritable mini-NJE. As he raps his way around his favorite haunts, NJE is joined by his friends, the token photographer, and his kid. Skateboarders do tricks, the gang of friends play around on park statues (one dolphin is their favorite in particular), they pose for pictures, the DJ spins wherever they are, and NJE swings on a swing set with his young son. “From He-man to GI Joes / I was pushin’ Tonka trucks,” list just some of things people who grew up in the 80’s would be familiar with. It’s a day in the park, full of romantic memories of childhood.
