Fatai Announces Australia and NZ Tour Dates

Eighteen year old Sydney based singer Fatai Veamatahau has conquered Facebook, and now the up and coming pop star has announced she is going on her first solo tour across Australia and New Zealand. Garnering worldwide attention with her soulful rendition of Sia’s Chandelier this week with over 2 million views on Facebook, the performer is set to headline across four venues later this year.

Known simply as Fatai, the singer has scored big over the past two years as a support act for Boyce Avenue and New Empire. Headlining Forest Edge Music Festival in March and joining a line-up of artists like Shonlock and Evermore at Easterfest in April, she has made a name for herself on the tour circuit and was signed to Universal Music Australia earlier this year. Gaining the attention of blogger Perez Hilton with her latest video, the soulful teen has also made waves with her covers of Disney’s Do You Want To Build A Snowman? and Matt Corby’s Brother.”

Coming to fame on Australia’s season of the Voice in 2012, the then sixteen year old blew judges Keith Urban, Delta Goodrem, Joel Madden and Seal away with her rendition of Eva Cassidy’s Songbird.” Joining Team Seal, her battle round performance of Rhianna’sLove The Way You Lie Pt. II peeked at #6 on the Australian iTunes charts as she went on to become a semi-finalist in the series.

Coming to popular venues like Auckland’s Galatos and Melbourne’s The Toff In Town, Fatai looks set to wow fans on her first tour. With over 200,000 fans on Facebook the singer’s fan base is expanding on a global scale with hopes a debut album will be released soon. You can see Fatai on tour at the dates below.
