There were rumors circulating on social media that Beyoncé would be releasing another surprise album and follow-up to her self-titled visual album, which was released in December 2013. Released exclusively on iTunes, the album went on to sell over 800,000 copies within three days. To date, it has been certified triple platinum. Beyoncé then revamped her Mrs. Carter World Tour set to include her new music and went On The Run with her husband Jay-Z this summer. Before the tour was filmed for HBO, Beyoncé performed a medley of her visual album in its entirety as she received the 2014 Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV VMAs. The rerelease album is a 4-disc box set titled, BEYONCÉ (Platinum Edition).
In addition to the original 14 songs and 17 videos, fans will also receive a CD in the box set featuring two new tracks: “7/11” and “Ring Off.” The set will also include remixes to “Drunk In Love” featuring Kanye West; “***Flawless” featuring Nicki Minaj; “Blow” featuring Pharrell; and “Standing on the Sun” featuring Mr. Vegas. They will also receive another DVD of live footage from the Mrs. Carter World Tour, featuring the songs “Run the World (Girls),” “***Flawless,” “Get Me Bodied,” “Blow,” “Haunted,” “Drunk In Love” featuring Jay-Z, “1+1,” “Partition,” “Heaven,” and “XO.” Completing the set is a mini version of the 2015 Beyoncé calendar.
There was a previous tracklist leaked that featured 11 new tracks, including “DONK” featuring Nicki Minaj, “Renouncement” featuring Justin Timberlake, “KO,” “Loyal,” and “True.” Fans will not be getting much new matieral besides “7/11,” “Ring Off,” and Pharrell’s take on “Blow,” and they will not be getting any behind the scenes from On The Run either.
As for the BEYhive that were expecting new music, they will just have to deal with the two new releases and jam to the remixes that have already flooded the airwaves. Out of the remixes, the only one that has yet to surface is “Blow” with Pharrell. This compilation is no rumor, as it is available for preorder online and will be available November 24th. All in all, this could be the cherry on the top of Beyoncé’s year.
