If you were to combine Chuck Berry, Ray Charles, Rolling Stones and Sam Cooke, you would get Quinn DeVeaux and The Blue Beat Review. “Left This Town” is a catchy, upbeat track with a joyful music video. Quinn DeVeaux is seen wearing a fresh, bright suit (minus the jacket) as he walks and sings. It’s a beautiful sunny day out in the middle of the road. Accompanying him are cheerful dancers, a drummer, guitarist, and trumpet player. DeVeaux sings of the positive outcomes in his life since he “left this town.” He’s excited to start something new and he’s bringing a crew along with him. It’s a fun track comprised of various genres. The song is infused with soul, jazz, blues, gospel, and Americana. DeVeaux’s sound provides old tunes with new modern twists, evoking old school music and bringing new life to modern soul. Cue the trumpet solo and you’ll find yourself clapping your hands and marching along with the crew.
