Lauryn Hill announced she will be hitting the road next month for her Acoustic Performance Series. The six acoustic shows will take place from February 13th through February 25th in small venues that seat between 250-500 people. Fans of the recording artist will be able to purchase a VIP meet and greet session with the singer. The VIP session includes a limited edition art poster designed by Hill, souvenir tour laminate, and an individual meet and greet (includes photo and autograph). Fans will be able to purchase tickets at MsLaurynHill.com. Hill’s tour dates and venue locations are also listed on her website.

Hill’s first and only solo studio album to date, debuted at Number 1 on the US Billboard 200. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill sold 422,624 copies in its debut week. The album went on to sell over eight million copies. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill won five Grammy Awards in 1999; including Album of the Year and Best New Artist. Hill recorded the live album entitled, MTV Unplugged No. 2.0 in 2001. The singer abandoned her hip hop sound, and replaced it with an acoustic folk and soul influence. The album debuted at Number 3 on the charts, and was certified platinum. It’s been over a decade since Lauryn Hill has released an album, even though she releases songs online every now and then.

Hill signed a recording contract in 2013 with Sony Music. Hill released the following statement regarding her new deal, and to address the rumors that she signed a million dollar contract with Sony in order to avoid going to prison for tax evasion, “It has been reported that I signed a new record deal, and that I did this to pay taxes. Yes, I have recently entered into an agreement with Sony Worldwide Entertainment, to launch a new label, on which my new music will be released. And yes, I am working on new music.” The reports that stated Hill signed a million dollar deal were not true, although she did sign the deal, the amount of the deal was never announced. Hill also did not avoid prison time. In 2013, she served three months in federal prison for tax evasion. As of today, Lauryn Hill has not released any commercial music or a studio album.
