Former American Idol runner-up, Adam Lambert, just signed a new record label deal with Warner Brothers Records. The record deal comes just one day after the singer split with RCA Records. Currently, the singer is the frontman of the legendary rock group Queen. Lambert sat down with Billboard magazine to discuss his new deal and the possibility of the singer working with songwriter-producers Max Martin and Shellback again: “I was working on demos and scheduled a meeting with them. They’re two of my favorite producers and at the very top of their game.”

Lambert, Martin, and Shellback worked together on the singer’s first album For Your Entertainment. Martin and Shellback wrote and produced Lambert’s second single from the album entitled, “Whataya Want from Me.” The song peaked at Number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, and Lambert received a Grammy nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

Adam Lambert’s For Your Entertainment album debuted at Number 3 on Billboard’s 200 chart, and sold 198,000 copies in its first week. Due to the success of his album and three singles, “For Your Entertainment,” “Whataya Want from Me,” and “If I Had You,” the pop singer headlined a worldwide tour. The tour entitled Glam Nation, was the first headliner tour for a former American Idol contestant. The Glam Nation tour featured 113 shows, including 81 dates in North America. To date, For Your Entertainment has sold over two million copies worldwide.

Three years after releasing his debut album, Lambert released Trespassing. In the album’s first week, it debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard 200. Lambert is the first openly gay artist to ever have an album debut at number one. He released three singles from the project including “Better Than I Know Myself,” “Never Close Our Eyes,” and “Trespassing.” In 2013, Lambert went on a mini-tour named We Are Glamily. Some of his tour stops included South Korea, Japan, and Russia. The pop star is currently on the Queen + Adam Lambert Tour. The tour first started with a few dates in 2012, and then more dates were added in 2013 and last year. Their 2015 dates will include performances in Europe and the United Kingdom.
