Fall Out Boy were just named as featured performers at the NHL‘s 2015 All-Star Game. Rockers O.A.R. were also announced as performers at this year’s event. The band Locksley is also scheduled to perform their hit single, “The Whip,” during the NHL All-Star player introductions. During the regular season, “The Whip” is played after every Columbus Blue Jackets‘ goal. Fall Out Boy will perform during the first intermission, and O.A.R. will perform during the second intermission. Fans can watch the 2015 NHL All-Star Game on January 25th at 5PM (Eastern standard time) on the NBC Sports Network. The game will also air on CBC and TVA Sports in Canada.

Pop punk band Fall Out Boy will release their sixth studio album, American Beauty/American Psycho, on January 20th. The album’s lead single “Centuries” reached Number 13 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. The song was used on ESPN as their unofficial theme music for the college football bowl games. During a recent interview, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz explained how and why the “Centuries” was created, “‘Centuries’ goes back to that David versus Goliath idea. For the most part, a lot of legendary tales start from humble beginnings. People tend to forget that.” Wentz added, “People are obsessed with status quo. Change terrifies a lot of us. ‘Centuries’ really bangs on that. Just because you’re being told that what you’re doing sucks, that you’re weird or whatever, that doesn’t mean that you’re not a leader. Leaders attract a lot of arrows, you know?” “Centuries” has been deemed a “perfectly crafted” song made to be played in sports arenas and an inspiring song about the “power in believing in yourself.”

Fall Out Boy will be hitting the road on January 22nd in order to promote their album American Beauty/American Psycho. During the tour, the band will also make stops at various music festivals, including the Soundwave Festival in Australia on February 21st, 22nd, 28th, and March 1st. On June 10th, rapper Wiz Khalifa will join Fall Out Boy on The Boys of Zummer Tour. The 38-date tour kicks off on June 10th in Camden, New Jersey, and it will conclude August 10th in Los Angeles. According to the band’s website, Fall Out Boy will resume their American Beauty/American Psycho Tour in the UK from October 3rd-12th.
