NKOTB Confirms Summer Tour with Nelly and TLC

New Kids on the Block are going on tour this summer for The Main Event Tour. The legendary boy band will be joined by TLC and Nelly. The band released the tour news on Good Morning America today, “There is no stopping us! We always have something up or sleeves.” Donnie Wahlberg continued, “Our fans keep asking us to come back out on the road, and we want to keep giving them what they want.” The tour begins on May 1st in Las Vegas, and it will stop in over thirty cities across North America. Tickets go on sale January 31st on Live Nation’s website

New Kids on the Block member Jonathan Knight recently announced he will be competing on the CBS reality show, The Amazing Race. He will appear on the show with his boyfriend Harley Rodriguez. Knight spoke to People magazine about practicing for his upcoming competition, “We’ve been doing little fake things in New York. He’ll go to one side of the street, I’ll go to the corner and we’ll see who can get a taxi faster.” 

New Kids on the Block was formed in the 1980s. The band consists of Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre, Danny Wood, and brothers Jordan and Jonathan Knight. They released seven studio albums, including a 2013 release entitled 10. New Kids have sold more than eighty million records worldwide. Some of the band’s biggest hit include “Please Don’t Go Girl,” “Hangin’ Tough,” “You Got It (The Right Stuff),” “I’ll Be Loving You Forever,” and “Step By Step.” Forbes listed the band as the highest-earning entertainers in 1991. 

Along with the success of the band, some of the members achieved successful solo careers too. Jordan Knight released his self-titled solo album in 1999. Knight has also released four Top 40 singles, including his best selling song “Give It To You.” To date, Knight has released three studio albums, and he has sold a combined 1.5 million copies worldwide. Joey McIntyre has released eight studio albums, including his Stay The Same release. The album sold over 500,000 copies in 1999. Donnie Wahlberg decided to embark on an acting career, and he has been featured in a number of films including The Sixth Sense, the Saw films, Dreamcatcher, and Righteous Kill. Donnie Wahlberg also stars in the reality show Wahlburgers with his brothers, and he also stars in Donnie Loves Jenny with his wife Jenny McCarthy
