Imagine Dragons are going on an intimate tour sponsored by Southwest Airlines. On February 3rd through the 16th, fans will be able to enter a Southwest Airlines sweepstakes. One winner and three friends will have the opportunity to a experience a four-day, three-night concert with Imagine Dragons. The concerts include small intimate venues in Las Vegas on February 23rd, and shows in Atlanta on February 25th. The winners will also receive prime seating on the event entitled Southwest Ultimate Destination Dragons Flight. The destination flight will feature the band’s acoustic performance from 35,000 feet in the sky. Imagine Dragons released the following statement, “We can think of no better way to unveil our new album than to travel together with our fans at 35,000 feet, and to play in the same clubs where we started this journey.” The contest will also allow Southwest Airlines the opportunity to capitalize on their new partnership with Beats Music. Passengers on the flight will be able to stream Imagine Dragons’ new album Smoke + Mirrors, which is scheduled to be released on February 17th. The album is the second studio album from the band, and it is led by the singles “I Bet My Life” and “Gold.”
The band’s debut album Night Visions peaked at Number 2 on the Billboard 200 in 2012. Night Visions sold a respectable 83,000 copies in its first week. Five songs were released from the album including the Number 1 single, “Radioactive.” In 2013, Rolling Stone magazine named “Radioactive” the biggest rock hit of the year, and it sold over three million copies. The record was also nominated for two Grammy Awards including Record of the Year and Best Rock Performance; the band won the Best Rock Performance award. Imagine Dragons’ third single “Demons” climbed to Number 1 on Billboard’s Pop Songs, and it also sold three million copies. Imagine Dragons have headlined three major tours including the Imagine Dragons Tour, Night Visions Tour, and Into The Night Tour. The band’s Into The Night Tour included 127 dates. The tour began in 2009 and featured two years worth of concerts in North America. In 2012, Imagine Dragons headed out to Europe and the United Kingdom to perform the second leg of the tour.
