The Radio Disney Awards will air on April 26th at 8PM (Eastern standard time) on the Disney Channel. The awards show will take place on April 25th at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The Disney Channel network has yet to announce a host, nominees, or any projected performers. The awards show first aired on television last year. From 2002 through 2006, the show was an audio-only recording. The awards show did not hold an awards ceremony from 2007 through 2012. Although the event was not televised, the awards show took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Pop stars Selena Gomez, Cher Lloyd, Coco Jones, and Mindless Behavior performed at the show. Last year’s first televised event featured performances by Fifth Harmony, Ariana Grande, Austin Mahone, and Becky G

Since its inaugural awards show in 2002, Hilary Duff is Radio Disney’s most nominated recording artist with twenty-five nominations. Duff also leads all other artists with fourteen Radio Disney awards. Some of Hilary Duff’s awards include Best New Artist, Best Actress Turned Singer, Most Stylish Singer, and Best Song. Duff’s career really took off when she starred in the Disney’s television series Lizzie McGuire from 2001 through 2004. She also appeared in a number of films including Agent Cody Banks and Cheaper by the Dozen in 2003, A Cinderella Story and Raise Your Voice in 2004, and Cheaper by the Dozen 2 in 2005. Duff is expected to star in the independent film Flock of Dudes this year. The film is projected for a spring release, and it also stars Chris D’ Elia and Hannah Simone

As a musician, Duff has released four albums including Santa Claus Lane, Metamorphosis, Hilary Duff, and Dignity. Metamorphosis sold 203,000 copies in its first week, and went on to sell five million copies worldwide. The album produced three singles, “So Yesterday,” “Come Clean,” and “Little Voice.” “So Yesterday” became the pop singer’s first song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Her last album, Dignity, was released almost eight years ago. The album faired well on the charts, and it was eventually certified Gold. To date, Hilary Duff has sold over 15 million records worldwide.
