It seems Selena Gomez‘s photos of her and Zedd in the recording studio were for a good reason. Ryan Tedder announced that fans may receive a single from the pop star and EDM producer by the end of this month. The OneRepublic frontman and songwriter spoke to Billboard magazine about Gomez and Zedd’s new single. “The new Zedd-Selena record that has been buzzing about? That’s my song,” Tedder told Billboard magazine. He added, “He [Zedd] crushed it. I went on a run today and listened to it on repeat in my headphones. Selena did a bang-up job. She killed it.” The songwriter-producer did not know the exact release date for the song, but he believes it may be released soon. “I’ll leave it at this, I have a good feeling you might hear it before the end of the month,” Tedder said to Billboard magazine. This is not the first time Tedder and Zedd have worked together on a project. Tedder worked with the producer on his “Lost at Sea” song from Zedd’s Clarity album. The songwriter said that he and Zedd have maintained a solid working relationship ever since, and that’s how he got involved in Gomez and Zedd’s new song.

Ryan Tedder was also nominated for a Grammy for his contribution on Beyoncé‘s self-titled album. Tedder co-wrote the R&B superstar’s “XO” record. Tedder was asked what he thought about Beyoncé releasing a surprise album. “She did it 100 percent on her terms. It was a huge, huge risk that, in my opinion, paid off and shocked the world,” Tedder said to Billboard magazine. The songwriter also co-wrote “Halo” for Beyoncé, which was released in 2009. The song was featured on the singer’s I Am… Sasha Fierce. “Halo” was nominated for Record of the Year, and it won the Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal in 2009. The single sold over three million copies in the US. As a songwriter and producer, Tedder has worked with Madonna, Adele, U2, Maroon 5, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, Taylor Swift, and countless other recording artists. Besides “XO” and “Halo,” some of his biggest songwriting hits include “Bleeding Love” (Leona Lewis), “Already Gone” (Kelly Clarkson), and “Rumor Has It” (Adele).
