According to reports, Hilary Duff has filed for divorce from her husband Mike Comrie. The couple married in August 2010, nearly five years ago. Duff and Comrie revealed they were separating last year, but TMZ is reporting the couple actually have been separated since January 2013. When the couple first split, the pop singer said she and her husband would remain best friends, and continue to be amazing parents to their son, 3-year old Luca. The couple did remain friends throughout their separation, and late last year the couple had reconciled. While there are reports that Comrie’s recent partying has caused the couple to split once again, Duff has not released an official statement.

Hilary Duff has had a pretty successful music career, although the singer hasn’t released an album in eight years. In 2007, Duff released Dignity, which produced three singles including “Play With Fire,” “With Love,” and “Stranger.” Dignity faired well on the charts, and it was eventually certified Gold. In total, Duff has dropped three albums besidesDignity, which include Santa Claus Lane, Metamorphosis, and Hilary Duff. Metamorphosis sold 203,000 copies in its first week, and went on to sell five million copies worldwide. The album produced three singles, “So Yesterday,” “Come Clean,” and “Little Voice.” “So Yesterday” became the pop singer’s first song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. To date, Hilary Duff has sold over 15 million records worldwide.

The pop singer has also appeared in a number of films, and she even starred in her own television show on the Disney Channel. In 2001, Duff starred in Disney’s Lizzie McGuire for two seasons. Two years later, Walt Disney Pictures released The Lizzie McGuire Movie in theaters. The film grossed over $55 million dollars worldwide, and became the first movie based on a Disney channel television series. That same year, Duff would also star in the films Agent Cody Banks and Cheaper by the Dozen. She also made appearances in A Cinderella Story and Raise Your Voice in 2004, and Cheaper by the Dozen 2 in 2005. Hilary Duff is expected to star in the independent film Flock of Dudes this year. The film is projected for a spring release, and it also stars Chris D’ Elia and Hannah Simone.
