The Imagine Dragons may have the Number 1 album in the country next week. The band’s Smoke + Mirrors project may sell about 180,000 copies, which will place the album at the top of the Billboard 200 Albums chart. The chart is measured by tallying the activity on the Billboard Hot 100, Top Album Sales, and the Social 50 chart. The current top position on the chart is being held by Drake’s If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late album. If the band tops Drake‘s album, the rapper would have been at Number 1 for only one week. Imagine Dragon’s last album Night Visions peaked at Number 2 on the charts, and it sold over two million copies. To date, Imagine Dragons have never had an album reach the Number 1 position.

The band is preparing for its Southwest Ultimate Destination Dragons Flightwhich will begin on February 23rd. The band had a sweepstakes that fans were able to enter this month, in order to win a four-day, three night tour with the Imagine Dragons. The band has not announced who won the contest, which is being sponsored by Southwest Airlines. The concerts include small intimate venues in Las Vegas on February 23rd, and shows in Atlanta on February 25th. The winners will also receive prime seating on the Southwest Ultimate Destination Dragons Flight. The destination flight will feature the band’s acoustic performance from 35,000 feet in the sky. Imagine Dragons released the following statement, “We can think of no better way to unveil our new album than to travel together with our fans at 35,000 feet, and to play in the same clubs where we started this journey.”

The contest will also allow Southwest Airlines the opportunity to capitalize on their new partnership with Beats Music. Passengers on the flight will be able to stream Imagine Dragons’ new Smoke + Mirrors project, which was released on February 17th. The projected Number 1 album is led by the singles “I Bet My Life,” “Gold,” and “Shots.” The latest single “Shots” reached the Number 7 position on the US Hot Rock Songs chart, and it also charted in the UK, Canada, and Australia. The “Shots” music video, which was directed by Robert Hales, premiered earlier this month. Hales also directed music videos for Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Avril Lavigne, and more.
