Big Sean may be heading for his first Number 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. Sean‘s Dark Sky Paradise is projected to sell about 140,000 copies. The current Number 1 album in the country belongs to the Imagine Dragons. The band’s Smoke + Mirrors project sold an impressive 195,000 copies in its debut week. Other albums that are expected to reach the Top 10 in its debut week includes Chris Brown and Tyga‘s Fan of a Fan: The Album (projected to sell 60,000), and Kid Rock‘s First Kiss (projected to sell 120,000).

Dark Sky Paradise includes guest appearances by Kanye West, Drake, John Legend, Lil Wayne, Ariana Grande, Chris Brown, Jhene Aiko, and others. To date, Sean has dropped three singles from Dark Sky Paradise including “I Don’t F*** With You,” “Paradise,” and “Blessings.” “I Don’t F*** With You,” reached the Number 1 position on three Billboard charts including the R&B/Hip Hop chart, the Hot Rap Songs chart, and the Rhythmic chart. The song has also reached platinum-certification by selling over one million copies worldwide. While most people speculated the record was about his ex-fiancée Naya Rivera, the rapper denied the speculations to MTV News. The rapper told the news source that he was still in a relationship with Rivera when he wrote the song. Ironically, the two ended the relationship before the song was released, and so Sean went back into the recording studio and made changes to “I Don’t F*** With You.”

While the song may not have been about Rivera in the beginning, there are obviously some lyrics that were addressed to her when Sean revised the record. “And everyday I wake up celebrating shit, why?/ ‘Cause I just dodged a bullet from a crazy bitch,” the lyrics stated. The rapper’s latest single “Blessings” features Drake and Kanye West, and it is currently Number 10 on the Hot Rap Songs chart. Vinylz and Boi-1da provided the production on the track. Sean P. Diddy’ Combs recently announced that Big Sean is the newest member of the Ciroc family. Combs has a 50/50 marketing deal with the Vodka company in order to promote their brand, and it seems Big Sean has been added to the marketing campaign.

FDRMX Eyes: Seattle-based duo Fly Moon Royalty recently released their music video, “DNA.” “DNA” is a blend of electronica, hip-hop, soul and R&B.
