Mumford and Sons recently revealed they would experiment with a new sound, using electric guitars and synthesizers, on their new project Wilder Mind. The first single and music video for the song “Believe” was just released. How receptive have Mumford and Sons‘ fans been to the band’s new sound and single? It seems most fans love their new sound, and some are calling Mumford and Sons a new version of Coldplay. “Believe” has also received rave reviews from music critics.

The band discussed how the song came about during an interview with Rolling Stone magazine. “We were in Texas at a wedding all together. My best friend got married in Texas, and so the family at the ranch let us stay in an outhouse [guesthouse] for a week, and we did a lot of writing there,” Mumford told Rolling Stone. He continued, “I had to leave early by a day [one day]. By the time we met up in London a couple of weeks later to demo the songs that we’d been writing, the boys brought Believe to the table.”

Mumford has written much of the band’s lyrics on their previous albums Sigh No More and Babel, but his bandmates also handled the songwriting duties on “Believe.” Mumford said the song was written at a time when he was just enjoying singing, and not playing and songwriting. “I was enjoying being a singer and it happened with that song. And you know there was sketches of lyrics. We all collaborated on lyrics a lot more on this record than we did on records in the past,” Mumford told Rolling Stone. He added,”We sat down and did rough demos for a song and that one came up like that. We actually used the guitar solos from the demos for that song.”

Mumford and Sons’ Wilder Mind will be released on May 4th. The band will began their Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers tour this summer, when they travel to New Jersey at The Beachside at Seaside Heights music festival on June 5th. They will also perform at Bonnaroo Music Festival on June 11th in Tennessee. Mumford and Sons will embark on their overseas leg, starting in July in the Netherlands.

FDRMX Eyes: The Other People are a rock band from India. They have released a new music video entitled “So Damn Beautiful.”
