Good news for fans of Dashboard Confessional or Third Eye Blind, better news for fans of both: starting this May, they will be co-headlining a thirty-eight date summer tour starting in Cleveland at the Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica and ending in San Francisco. Dashboard Confessional’s Chris Carrabba announced the tour through a video via the band’s Facebook page saying, “It’s been a while since you’ve heard anything from Dashboard Confessional, and I thought it might be time to change that. So, what’s new with you? Got any big plans this summer? I got a feeling I know what I’ll be up to.” While Dashboard Confessional’s Instagram filled in the blanks, stating “Missed us? We missed you too. Dashboard Confessional is reuniting and headed out on tour this Summer, along with our friends Third Eye Blind.”

While “Screaming Infidelities” off the album, The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most, won an MTV2 award at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards, it was 2003’s certified gold album, A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar, that propelled them to fame. It is considered Dashboard Confessional’s most commercially successful album to date, and peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 charts. Since then, the band have contributed songs to both Spider-Man 2 and Shrek 2, as well as the Jennifer’s Body soundtrack. Aside from their upcoming tour, presale tickets for Citi card members go on sale March 12th, and the general public can begin purchasing tickets March 13th. Dashboard Confessional are offering an unreleased demo as a free download to new members of their fan club.

Of the tour, Third Eye Blind’s Stephan Jenkins said, “I love the unbridled enthusiasm of a Summer tour. All that crowd energy and the heat frees us up. That’s why summer is so exciting.” Third Eye Bind, who signed to Elektra Records in 1996 under what would be the largest publishing deal for an unsigned artist ever, have sold over twelve million records worldwide. Their self-titled debut album was certified six times platinum, becoming the group’s most successful album to date, spawning hits such as: “Semi-Charmed Life,” “Graduate,” and “How’s It Gonna Be.” The band began work on a fifth album in 2010, but due to their rigorous touring schedule, they have yet to complete it.
