Tom DeLonge is releasing a solo album entitled To The Stars…Demos, Odds, and Ends on April 21st. The former Blink-182 guitarist’s effort will feature old and new material from his personal music files. Yesterday, DeLonge dropped the first song from the album called “New World.” The record has been well-received by fans so far, and it has also received high praise from music critics. While “New World” is supposed to be an old track from DeLonge’s personal stash, a lot of people have claimed it sounds like an unreleased track from Blink-182.

The guitarist is going to drop two more songs before the album is released. The next single will be released on March 23rd, and the third song will drop on April 6th. The track listing for To The Stars…Demos, Odds and Ends will be revealed on March 16th. DeLonge will also offer pre-sale deals and bundles, which include deluxe versions of the project and merchandise. Fans can visit DeLonge’s website for more information regarding To The Stars…Demons, Odds, and Ends.

DeLonge has not officially left Blink-182, he claims he was just not ready to reunite with his band to record a new album. Although his bandmates, Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus, said DeLonge needs to officially quit the band so they can all move on. The group was supposed to start recording their new album in January, but DeLonge did not make it to the session. The guitarist had his manager send Barker and Hoppus an e-mail in December, which claimed DeLonge had prior engagements he had already committed to.

The guitarist expected his bandmates to understand the situation, but Barker and Hoppus instead replaced DeLonge. Barker and Hoppus replaced DeLonge with Alkaline Trio‘s Matt Skiba. The band just revealed they will perform at SOMA on March 20th in San Diego. Blink-182 will also perform at the Musink Tattoo Convention and Music Festival on March 22th. As of now, Barker did not reveal if Skiba is the permanent replacement for DeLonge.

Blink-182 dropped several studio albums including Cheshire Cat (1995), Enema of the State (1999), Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (2001), the self-titledBlink-182 (2003), and Neighborhoods (2011). Enema of the State and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket were both certified Diamond, after selling over ten million copies a piece. To date, the band has sold over thirty-five million albums worldwide. They are considered to be one of the most successful punk bands in the 2000s era. Blink-182 has won numerous awards, including two MTV Europe Music Awards for Best New Act and Best Rock Act.
