A$AP Rocky performed at Samsung’s Milk Music Lounge at South By Southwest (SXSW). The rapper performed some of his biggest hits including “Goldie” and “Problems.” Rocky was surrounded by some of his A$AP Mob family including A$AP Ferg, A$AP Ant, A$AP Twelvyy, and A$AP Nast. After Rocky left the stage, he sat down with Billboard magazine to discuss his sophomore project A.L.L.A.

The rapper told Billboard his new album is complete, and it features guest appearances from FKA Twigs, Juicy J, and Lykke Li. The upcoming project will be executive produced by Dangermouse, Juicy J, and A$AP Yams. This is the first time A$AP Yams is listed as an executive producer on a Rocky studio album. Yams unfortunately died earlier this year, due to an accidental mixed drug intoxication.

During his performance, A$AP Rocky told the crowd that this was the happiest he’s ever been in his life. The rapper said he was so grateful to be with his A$AP Mob family. “Being busy all the time, you just don’t get a chance to be with the people that mean the most to you sometimes. Because you gotta handle your business and you got a career to maintain,” Rocky told Billboard magazine. The last time the magazine interviewed Rocky, was just a week after A$AP Yams had passed away. “I was f***ed up then. I’m getting back into things. I’m not fully there but shit takes time,” the rapper said.

A$AP Rocky made his acting debut in the film Dope, which was recently purchased by Sony and Open Road for $7 million dollars. The movie was one of the biggest successes at the Sundance Film Festival this year, and it will hit theaters on June 12th. “It’s crazy that it was number one at Sundance. We had no idea at the time. The reason why I say number one [is because] it was the biggest seller. I didn’t expect that,” Rocky stated.

A$AP Rocky told Billboard that he doesn’t have any movie roles in the works, because he’s too focused on his music career. His new album A.L.L.A. does not have a release date, and so fans have speculated the rapper will drop an unexpected release. “I don’t consider it a surprise. You put it out there and it’s art, that’s the surprise. I hope people are surprised by my album,” Rocky told Billboard
