Adam Levine Producing New Songwriting Show

Adam LevineAudrey Morrisey (The Voice executive producer), and songwriter Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), are working on a pilot for a songwriting competition show. The show is presently entitled Songland, and it will showcase songwriters looking to break into the music industry. The writers will have the opportunity to pitch their original works to artists and music producers who  are looking for the next big hit song. As a songwriter, Levine has written a great deal of Maroon 5’s songs including “Animals,” “Hands All Over,” “She Will Be Loved,” “Wake Up Call,” “Sugar,” and “Daylight.” 

Adam Levine is the frontman for the pop rock band Maroon 5. The band has released five studio albums including Songs About Jane, It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, Hands All Over, Overexposed, and V. Maroon 5’s first album, Songs About Jane, reached the top 10 on the Billboard 200 charts, and it has sold over ten million copies. The platinum-selling project produced three hits including “Harder to Breathe,” “This Love,” and “She Will Be Loved.” One of the band’s biggest songs is “Moves Like Jagger,” which has sold over eight million copies. Maroon 5 has won three Grammy Awards for Best New Artist, Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group (“This Love” and “Makes Me Wonder”). 

Maroon 5 is currently on their world tour, which launched on February 16th in Dallas, Texas. The band has thirty dates scheduled in North America (California, Chicago, New York, Canada, Washington DC, and more). Besides North America, the band will also travel to France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Australia, and more. Magic!, most known for their breakout hit “Rude,” are the opening act for the tour. Rozzi Crane (US dates) and Nick Garner (Europe dates) will also join the band on the road. The 51-date Maroon 5 world tour is expected to wrap on October 3rd. 

Aside from his being the Maroon 5 frontman, Adam Levine is also a judge on NBC’s reality talent show The Voice. The show has been on the air for seven seasons, and Levine has been a judge on the show since its premiere in 2011. The music competition show also features Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, and Pharrell Williams.
