The new Duran Duran album will feature a number of guest appearances including Janelle Monae, John Frusciante (former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist), and Kiesza. It is also being reported that singer-actress Lindsay Lohan will be featured on the project as well. Lohan recently posted a photo of herself, her sister (Ali Lohan), and Duran Duran in the recording studio. A source claims Lohan will not sing on the project, but she will instead have a spoken work contribution. However, Ali Lohan will sing on the song they all recorded together. Mark Ronson, Nile Rodgers, and Mr. Hudson will provide their production services on the upcoming album.
Duran Duran was formed in 1978, and the band rose to prominence in the 1980s. The rock band has released thirteen studio albums including Duran Duran, Rio, Seven and the Ragged Tiger, Notorious, Big Thing, Liberty, Thank You, Pop Trash, Astronaut, All You Need is Now, and more. Their discography also includes compilation and live projects, all of which total over 70 million records sold worldwide. A total of 39 singles have been dropped from Duran Duran, and 21 of those songs have reached the Billboard Hot 100, while14 of the songs have reached the Top 10 on the UK Singles chart. Some of the Duran Duran’s most recognized songs include “Hungry Like the Wolf,” “The Reflex,” “The Wild Boys,” “Come Undone,” “Ordinary World,” “Girls on Film,” “Save a Prayer,” “A View to a Kill,” “Notorious,” and “I Don’t Want Your Love.”
This year, Duran Duran will headline The UK Bestival music festival, which will run from September 10th through the 13th. The other headliners include the Chemical Brothers and Underworld. Other artists on the festival lineup include Mark Ronson, Skrillex, FKA Twigs, Lily Allen, Flava D, Rob Da Bank, London Elektricity, Four Tet, and more. Besides the UK Bestival, Duran Duran will make appearances at the Theatre at the Ace Hotel on April 1st in Los Angeles (California), the Sonar Festival on June 20th in Barcelona (Spain), Night at the Park on June 27th in The Hague (Netherlands), and the Killarney Festival on June 28th in Kerry (Ireland).
