There are reports circulating around that P. Diddy is executive producing an animated comedy series named Brightmoor. The cartoon was written and created by Chip Hall (King of the Hill) and comedian Chris Powell. Brightmoor centers around African-American students at an inner city school called Brightmoor Elementary in Detroit. The cartoon has been compared to the likes of the animated television show South Park. Trevor Engelson and Doug Banker will aslo executive produce the animated series. Brightmoor is expected to air on the FX network, although the air date has not be announced yet.
Along with producing a new show, Diddy revealed he is returning to his music production roots this year as well. The producer is working on projects for Kanye West, Pusha T, The Weeknd, Cassie, The LOX, A$AP Ferg, and more. Diddy’s production discography dates all the way back to the 1990s, and his resume includes working with Jodeci, Mary J. Blige, The Notorious B.I.G, TLC, Faith Evans, Brian McKnight, Lil Kim, Mase, Mariah Carey, Busta Rhymes, Jay Z, and so many more. Diddy would continue his production domination in the 2000s, by producing for music’s most recognizable superstars, which also include the artists on his Bad Boy Records label.
As a solo artist, Diddy has released six studio albums including No Way Out, Forever, The Saga Continues…, We Invented the Remix, Press Play, and Last Train to Paris (with Dirty Money). His upcoming album, MMM (Money Makin’ Mitch), is expected to be released some time later this year. His debut album, No Way Out, was dropped in 1997, and it would eventually sell over seven million copies. The Grammy-winning project featured the hit singles “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down” (featuring Mase), “I’ll Be Missing You” (featuring 112 and Faith Evans), “It’s All About the Benjamins” (featuring Notorious B.I.G., The LOX, and Lil Kim), “Been Around the World” (featuring Mase), and “Victory” (featuring Notorious B.I.G. and Busta Rhymes).
Diddy’s latest album, Last Train to Paris, was released five years ago, and it entered the Billboard 200 at Number 7. Six songs were dropped from the album, including “Hello Good Morning” featuring T.I. The hit sing reached Number 27 on the Billboard Hot 100, and it sold over 500,000 copies. “Hello Good Morning” also impacted the charts in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Europe, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland, and the UK. The remix version of the song featured guest appearances by Rick Ross and Nicki Minaj.
