Christina Aguilera Performs Duet at ACM Awards - FDRMX

Christina Aguilera took the stage with Rascal Flatts last night at the ACM (Academy of Country Music) Awards. The pop singer and Rascal Flatts performed the song “Shotgun,” which she recently performed as a character on ABC’s Nashville. The trio also performed “Riot” from Rascal Flatt’s Rewind project. The audience at The AT&T Stadium (where the awards show was held) seems to have been impressed with Aguilera and Rascal Flatts’ performance, and they showed their appreciation with cheers and an enormous applause.

Some of other performers of the night included George Strait’s performance of “All My Ex’s Live in Texas” and “Let It Go,” Reba McEntire performed a medley of her hits “Is There Life Out There,” “The Night That the Lights Went Out in Georgia,” “Fancy,” and “Going Out Like That,” Garth Brooks performed “All-American Kid,” and pop singer Nick Jonas joined Dan + Shay onstage for a country music- influenced version of Jonas’ “Jealous” and “Chains.”

Miranda Lambert also performed at ACM Awards; she performed “Mama’s Broken Heart” and her latest single “Little Red Wagon.” Lambert also won three ACM awards including Female Vocalist of the Year, her project Platinum won Album of the Year, and “Automatic” won Song of the Year. Perhaps her biggest honor was receiving the Milestone Award for being the female artist with the most ACM awards. After last night’s ceremony, Lambert now has twenty-one ACM awards (excluding her Milestone Award).

The other recipients of the ACM Milestone Award included Taylor Swift (the youngest to win the Entertainer of the Year award), Kenny Chesney (has won four Entertainer of the Year awards), Garth Brooks (received six Entertainer of the Year awards), Reba McEntire (has won seven Female Vocalist of the Year awards), George Strait (has won twenty-one awards), and Brooks & Dunn (have won twenty-seven awards).

The ACM Awards show was hosted by Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan. Bryan won the top honor of the night by winning the Entertainer of the Year award. Luke Laird, who penned Lady Antebellum’s “Damn You Seventeen,” Blake Shelton’s “Gonna” and “Anyone Else,” Carrie Underwood’s “Keep Us Safe,” Tim McGraw and Catherine Dunn’s “Diamond Rings and Old Barstools,” and Eric Church’s “The Outsiders,” took home the Songwriter of the Year award.
