Britney Spears seriously injured her ankle, after she fell onstage during her Piece of Me show. A doctor has ordered Spears to cancel her show tonight and May 2nd. “Breaks my heart to share this news. After hurting my ankle last night my doctor has advised me not to perform this weekend,” the pop singer wrote on Twitter. Spears also tweeted that she plans on rescheduling the canceled dates. For those who are seeking a refund, you should contact Ticketmaster or AXIS Box Office. Spears is expected to return to the Las Vegas stage soon, and no other show dates have been canceled. The pop singer earns about $310,000 per show ($15 million a year) with her Piece of Me show in Las Vegas (NV). Piece of Me has already grossed over $46 million dollars in ticket sales.
Spears’ injury is not expected to have any affect on her upcoming performance with Iggy Azalea at the Billboard Music Awards. The duo will take the stage on May 17th, where they will perform their single “Pretty Girls.” Spears stated that when she first saw an Iggy Azalea video on television, she felt like a kid in a candy store. “I love Iggy! I was like, ‘I love that video. I wanna work with her. It was really weird because a week after that, her manager was like, ‘She’s a huge fan of yours,'” Spears stated. The two artists decided to record a song together, and the rest is history.
The music video for “Pretty Girls” has already been filmed, and it was co-directed by Azalea. The 1980s-themed video will pay homage to the 1988 movie Earth Girls Are Easy, which starred Geena Davis and Jeff Goldblum. “The best part about [the video] was just us coming together with the clothes and doing the 80s haircuts. We were all about being characters, and so it was kind of funny for us. We weren’t taking ourselves so seriously,” the pop singer said. The artwork for “Pretty Girls” has leaked online, and it shows Spears riding through the Galaxy on a rocket, while Azalea is shown rocking a beehive hairdo.
