Eddie Vedder to Make Appearance on Letterman



CBS announced the guests for The Late Show with David Letterman‘s final few episodes. On May 18th, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder will perform on Letterman, and he will be joined by Paul Shaffer. Actor Tom Hanks will also make an appearance on Monday’s episode. The final episode for the iconic Letterman talk show will air on May 20th, and CBS has been very tight-lipped on who will appear on the last episode. Last month, Letterman announced he was retiring from late night television, and he will be replaced by Stephen Colbert. The former Colbert Report host will take over the reigns in September.

Eddie Vedder has released two albums as a solo artist. Those projects include Into the Wild and Ukulele Songs. Into the Wild was dropped eight years ago, and it was also the soundtrack for the film of the same name. The album peaked at Number 2 on the Billboard Soundtrack Albums chart, and it also impacted the charts in Switzerland, Spain, New Zealand, Germany, Denmark, and Australia. The rocker’s second project entitled Ukulele Songs, and it was released in 2011. The album featured the songs “More Than You Know,” “Once in a While,” “Tonight You Belong to Me,” and “Dream a Little Dream.” Ukulele Songs reached the Number 4 position on the Billboard 200 chart.

As the frontman of Pearl Jam, the rocker has dropped ten studio albums including Ten, Vs., Vitalogy, No Code, Yield, Binaural, Riot Act, Pearl Jam, Backspacer, and Lightning Bolt. Pearl Jam has become one of the most prominent band’s of their generation, and their albums sales have reached an estimated 60 million worldwide. The band’s latest project named Lightning Bolt was dropped two years ago, and it proved to be a huge success across the globe. The album reached the top of the Billboard 200, Top Alternative Albums, Top Hard Rock Albums, and Top Rock Albums chart. It also went to Number 1 in Portugal, Ireland, Croatia, Canada, Belgium, and Australia. Three singles were dropped from the project, which include “Mind Your Manners,” “Sirens,” and “Lightning Bolt.” “Mind Your Manners” peaked at Number 2 on the Mainstream Rock chart, Number 6 on the Rock Airplay, and Number 12 on the Alternative Songs chart.
