Riot Fest has begun announcing its lineup for this year’s three day concert extravaganza. The alternative music festival and carnival, which was founded eleven years ago and often contains bands that are native to the Chicago area such as; Fall Out Boy, Alkaline Trio, and Rise Against, will continue unveiling the rest of the lineup in mid-June. Riot Fest & Rodeo kicks off in Denver, Colorado on August 28th at the National Western Complex. As of this morning, the bands that will be participating in the much awaiting Denver leg of the show are: Modest Mouse, Andrew W,K., The Joy Formidable, Iggy Pop, Coheed and Cambria, Motorhead, the Pixies, and Tenacious D among many others.

The second leg of the show takes place at Douglas Park in Chicago, Illinois on September 11th. Not only will Riot Fest regulars such as Alkaline Trio be attending the show, which this year includes the Hellzapoppin Circus Sideshow Revue and the Rock-AFire Explosion, but also performers such as: Modest Mouse, Snoop Dogg, Rancid, No Doubt, Faith No More, OK Go, Billy Idol, Thrice, and Taking Back Sunday. The Academy Is…, who disband in late 2011, are also joining the Chicago portion of the show to perform their album, Almost Here, in its entirety. While the band announced their participation of the show through their Facebook page, making sure to squash any rumors of a permanent reunion, fans are already expressing their hope that this reunion show will be the beginning of many more to come. “Hello old friends, we are pleased to announce that we will be reuniting the band for a our first show in many years. In September, we will come together for Chicago’s RIOT FEST in Douglas Park to perform our beloved debut album “Almost Here” in its entirety. This is a 10 Year Anniversary Show! This is a Reunion Show! This is a Farewell Show! We are extremely excited to take a trip down memory lane — in the city that we call home. See you soon!”

Last but not least, the final portion of Riot Fest, respectively called Riot Fest and Exposition, will be held in Toronto’s Downsview Park on September 19th and is only two days long instead of three. While the lineup will be shorter than that of the other two cities’, it no less impressive; some of the performers included in the festival’s roster are: Tyler, The Creator, All Time Low, Wu-Tang Clan, and Drive Like Jehu , as well as Rancid, The Joy Formidable, Coheed and Cambria, Against Me!, and several other bands.

FDRMX Eyes: Project Revival‘s music video “Pain” is thrilling. The music is fast paced with heavy guitar riffs and raspy, melodic vocals. The lyrics speak of surviving during the darkest times. Check out the video here:
