Five Reasons We’re Psyched about Governor’s Ball

The Governor’s Ball Music Festival launched in 2011, and in the five short years of its lifespan, the festival has grown to be a mainstay of the New York summer festival season. In fact, the Governor’s Ball, held early in the Festival season (early June) on Randall’s Island Park and produced by an organization called Founders Entertainment, has emerged as one of the highest-profile festivals in the United States. The crowd tends to be young professionals from the tri-state area who are elated to be outdoors for the weekend. The event has gained a reputation for serving up endless waves of sonic beauty to the ears of thousands of participants, and the line up for 2015 is so spectacular, it promises to live up to its own standards. This weekend, fans of The Black Keys, Björk, and Drake will flood the island for a weekend of rampant revelry. If you are one of the chosen few who plans on being in attendance, you can expect to see a lot of beautiful girls in hippie garb, with flowers in the hair and grass in their cigarettes.
