The 2015 BET Awards will honor the legendary Smokey Robinson. The soul singer will receive the Lifetime Achievement award for his long-standing contribution to the music industry. Robinson, a former VP of the iconic Motown Records, also wrote such classics as “You’ve Really Got a Hold on Me,” “Ooo Baby Baby,” “Cruisin’,” and “Tears of a Clown.” The legend also penned Marvin Gaye’s “Ain’t That Peculiar,” Mary Wells’ “My Guy,” Temptations’ “My Girl” and “Get Ready,” and countless other hits. In 1987, Robinson was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Two years later, the icon was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. The BET Awards will also recognize Tom Joyner by honoring him with the Humanitarian Award. FDRMX Eyes: This a fun video by indie pop group Kali Briis for the song “I Love Your Face”. It starts off with stylized birds that look similar to penguins, flipping switches on and off to the metronome-like beat, and then it gets interesting. Check out the video here.
