John Legend is having his moment. The singer is married to model Chrissy Teigen and expecting his first child very soon. However, despite the fact that Legend has spent a considerable amount of time in the spotlight and under the scrutiny of the public eye, there are still some things that many people don’t know. With that in mind, here we present our list of 15 things you probably didn’t know about John Legend. Check out part one below, and stay tuned for part two, coming soon!

Number Fifteen: He Was Responsible With His Money From the Beginning. While most people would probably spend their first big paycheck on booze or some other extravagant thing, Legend actually used his first major paycheck to pay off outstanding college loans! He also used the money to buy an apartment.

Number Fourteen: He Owns Two Pianos. Legend revealed in a 2013 interview that he has a piano in both Los Angeles and New York. He plays with another piano while on tour, but he does not actually own that one. He reportedly leases it from Yamaha.

Number Thirteen: He Wishes Chrissy Were Messier. Well, sort of. Legend is married to model Chrissy Teigen, which is no big surprise if you’ve ever opened an entertainment website. However, when asked what he thinks Chrissy wishes he would stop doing, he said that she gets on his case for leaving the closet door open. He went on to say that she has some OCD tendencies in regards to cleanliness.

Number Twelve: He Has Sartorial Roots. In fact, both of Legend’s parents were tailors!

Number Eleven: He Likes to Work Out. When asked about his workout routine, Legend said that he runs, boxes, lifts weights and jumps rope. He also says that he watches his carb and sugar intake, and he eats a lot of fruit and vegetables.

Number Ten: He Was a Wedding Singer. He may not have been THE wedding singer, but as a teenager growing up, Legend worked as a wedding singer.

Number Nine: He Started Playing Piano When He Was Four Years Old. Legend has been playing piano for almost his entire life, so it’s no wonder he’s so talented!
