We already brought you part one of our list of 15 things you probably did not know about Queen Latifah, and now we’re back with part two! Check out eight more fascinating facts about the actress and singer that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!
Number Eight: The First Thing She Bought After Signing Her Record Deal Was a Gold Tooth. And she lost the tooth within a week of buying it! We’re guessing Latifah learned her lesson with that one.
Number Seven: She Is a Bit of an Interior Design Fanatic. Latifah revealed in an interview that she buys more interior design magazines than any other kind of magazine. Hey, we all have our fetish, right?
Number Six: She Is a Dare Devil. In fact, Latifah admitted that she has gone 155 miles per hour while on a motorcycle. Now that’s ballsy!
Number Five: She Has a Special Connection to Prince. The first album Latifah ever bought was Prince’s Purple Rain. The album also came with a poster that Latifah hung on her wall and even kissed on occasion.
Number Four: She Is an Entrepreneur. In addition to making a successful career out of singing, rapping, and acting, Latifah also has her own cosmetic line and two fragrances. She developed her cosmetic line with CoverGirl, and it’s called the CoverGirl Queen Collection. Her fragrances are called Queen and Queen of Hearts.
Number Three: She Carries Her Older Brother With Her. Latifah’s brother, Lancelot Jr., was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1992. Latifah can still be seen wearing the key to that motorcycle around her neck.
Number Two: She Had Breast Reduction Surgery. Latifah’s breasts were originally a size F, and in 2003, she had surgery to reduce them to a DD. She had the surgery to prevent further back and shoulder pain.
Number One: She Was the First Female Hip-Hop Artist to Be Nominated for an Oscar. Clearly, Latifah has some skills. She is often referred to as the Queen of Jazz-Rap, and she has sold almost two million records around the world. And what’s even more amazing is that she’s still going strong.
