The world is a surprising place, to say the least, and we have 15 ridiculous facts to convince you. These facts really sound like they should be fake, but are astonishingly true. Don’t believe us? Look it up for yourself! Also, be sure to check out part two of this article, to see the top seven ridiculous facts!

Number Fifteen: Flamingo Madness. Pink plastic flamingos are such tacky little eyesores fit only for the lawn of the little old lady from Pasadena. Remarkably, though, there are actually more of these little plastic beasts than there are of real flamingos. At least they don’t stink even half as bad!

Number Fourteen: Pac-Man in Your Ear. We love this one! As weird as it may sound, if you scratch your ear with your finger, it kind of sounds like Pac-Man is gnawing on some ghosts in there. Are you trying it now? We are!

Number Thirteen: What are These Letters on my Zipper?  You might find that most of your zippers are engraved with the letters “YKK”. Ever wondered what they might mean? They actually stand for “Yoshida Kogyo Kabushikigaisha”, the name for the Japanese company that is the largest zipper manufacturer in the world. We’re glad they went with the short version!

Number Twelve: What do These Icons Have in Common? Believe it or not, Martin Luther King Jr., Barbara Walters, and Anne Frank all have something in common. What’s the link? They were all born in the year 1929. Weird, huh?

Number Eleven: Your Cravings Could Kill You. Many people avoid the beach for irrational fears of being eaten by a shark, even though they only kill about ten people a year across the world. With those odds, you are twice as likely to be crushed by a vending machine. Scary thought, but that won’t keep you from the Cheetos.

Number Ten: Pink Milk. Ever tried hippo milk? Most people never even knew you could milk a hippo, much less the nature of such a liquid. Rest assured, if you were ever daring enough to milk a hippo, it would come out bright pink. Perfect for Valentine’s Day!

Number Nine: Ant Domination. It’s no news that ants greatly outnumber humans on earth, but have you ever wondered to what extent? Statistics state that for every individual person, there are 1.6 million ants in the world. That’s enough to form a structure the size and weight of a human, but don’t tell them that!

Number Eight: Ho Hum. No matter how hard you try, you will never be able to hum while holding your nose closed. You might be able to make some sort of weird noise, but without airflow to your nostrils, it just isn’t humming.
