15 Phobias You Won’t Believe Exist (Part 2)

We already brought you part one of our list of 15 phobias you won’t believe exist, and now we’re back with part two! Check out eight more bizarre things that people have crippling and life-altering fears of below. You might be surprised by what you find out!

Number Eight: Ombrophobia. Rain can be a beautiful and relaxing thing, but people who have ombrophobia have an irrational fear of it. Hopefully these people have some heavy-duty umbrellas ready to break out when they need to go out in the rain.

Number Seven: Geniophobia. There’s nothing sexier than a chiseled chin and jawline on a man, right? Not for geniophobics. Geniophobia is the irrational fear of chins.

Number Six: Trypophobia. Trypophobia is the irrational fear of holes, and though it’s a strange fear, it is quite common and has become a bit of an internet sensation. In fact, there’s even a subreddit devoted to triggering trypophobia!

Number Five: Globophobia. Having a balloon pop when you weren’t expecting it can be an alarming experience (not to mention a fun way to prank a younger sibling), but some people are so afraid of balloons popping that they go out of their way to avoid balloons altogether. Globophobia is exactly this – the fear of balloons popping.

Number Four: Arachibutyrophobia. This one’s a mouthful, and it’s no wonder because arachibutyrophobia is the fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth. Keep that milk nearby!

Number Three: Myrmecophobia. Ants might be small, but they trigger an irrational fear in people who suffer from myrmecophobia – the fear of ants.

Number Two: Anthophobia. While some people love receiving flowers on special occasions and holidays, others – specifically, people who suffer from anthophobia – are deathly afraid of flowers. Attention, men – do NOT send an anthophobic woman flowers!

Number One: Xanthophobia. Finally, one of the most unbelievable phobias is xanthophobia, which is a fear of the color yellow. This is an especially difficult phobia to cope with when you consider just how prevalent the color yellow is in our world – the sun, traffic lights, and McDonald’s can all be sources of extreme fear for people suffering from xanthophobia. We hope you enjoyed our list of 15 phobias you won’t believe exist!
