American Eagle is one of the most recognizable brands in the world. However, even if you shop there, how much do you really know about them? Despite the fact that the brand has spent a considerable amount of time in the spotlight and under the scrutiny of the public eye, there are still some things that many people don’t know. With that in mind, here we present our list of 15 things you probably didn’t know about American Eagle. Check out part one below, and stay tuned for part two, coming soon!

Number Fifteen: Don’t Feel Bad Saying “No” to That Store Credit Card. According to past employees of AE, they really hate being forced to ask customers to sign up for the card. So don’t feel guilty the next time you shut them down!

Number Fourteen: It Takes a Long Time to Fold Those Clothes. If you’ve ever been inside an American Eagle, then you’re familiar with how neat and folded all of the clothes are (unlike Victoria’s Secret or Forever 21, ahem). Well, it reportedly takes anywhere between 15 minutes and an hour to keep all of those clothes folded.

Number Thirteen: Some People Poop in the Fitting Rooms. Yes, really. According to an ex-employee of AE, someone once treated the fitting room like an outhouse. Think about that the next time you get the urge to try on a new pair of jeans there!

Number Twelve: You Shouldn’t Try to Return Worn Clothing. If you buy something from American Eagle, take it on vacation with you, and try and return it, chances are you’ll fail. AE has a strict policy about returning worn clothing, so don’t even bother. And if you do manage to successfully return it, it will probably be tagged as “unsellable.”

Number Eleven: You Can Change the Volume of the Music in Stores. Some American Eagle stores feature music that just seems ridiculously loud. However, if you simply ask an employee to turn it down, more often than not they’ll be happy to do it!

Number Ten: The Employees Can Tell if You’re Waiting for a Fitting Room. If you’re waiting to try on some clothes but can’t seem to find an employee, don’t worry! The headsets they wear have a special feature that sounds a “ding” every time someone goes to wait for a fitting room.

Number Nine: Their Employee Discount Is Pretty Sweet. Though the brand’s employees don’t have to wear AE clothes, they do get a 40 percent discount. Stay tuned for part two of our list of 15 things you didn’t know about American Eagle, coming soon!
