The Pussycat Dolls were an American girl group famously known for their hits “Don’t Cha” and “Buttons”. This group of ladies sold 54 million records internationally which made them one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. Here are 15 facts you probably did not know.

Number Fifteen: They Posed for Playboy

Seven of the eight known members of the original group: Kasey Campbell, Kiva Dawson, Antonietta Macri, Erica Breckels, Katie Bergold, Erica Gudis and Lindsley Allen. All posed for semi-nude photos in the 1999 issue.

Number Fourteen: Carmen Electra Was On The Original Roster

Carmen toured with the “dolls” for years before they hit the mainstream. When Carmen was asked why she didn’t stay with the group, she was quoted saying that although she enjoyed touring with them, she couldn’t take the monetary sacrifice.

Number Thirteen: Pussycat Dolls Were Fined For Playing In Kuala Lumpur

On the groups, PCD Tour they entered into the mostly Muslim State of Kuala Lumpur. They were fined $3000 for their sexy attire and sexually suggestive dance moves.

Number Twelve: Cristina Applegate Was A Part Of Their Burlesque Troupe

The group (minus Nicole) started as a dancing Burlesque group in California. They danced in sexy lingerie and had a residency in Johnny Depp’s Los Angeles nightclub Viper. Cristina Applegate was one of the founding members.

Number Eleven: Caesars Palace Has A Room Themed After Them

Caesars Palace in Las Vegas has a “Pussycat Lounge” where special guest celebrities stop by and perform erotic dances for the customers. They also have a resident Pussycat Doll from the original Troupe on site.

Number Ten: They Toured With Britney Spears

They were one of the opening acts for Britney Spears Circus Tour in 2008. This was also the same time there were wrapping up their own tour “Doll Domination”.

Number Nine: Nicole Scherzinger Was One Of The Last Members to Join The Group

Although it may seem that the lead singer was one of the original dolls, the fact is Nicole was one of the last members to join the Pussycat Dolls. They were touring their Burlesque show years before she became part of the group.

Number Eight: They Have Had Over Fourteen Members
