Number Fifteen: Many Languages are Spoken There

Over 200 to be exact. 45 of those are Indigenous languages, but the most common ones (besides English of course) are Italian, Greek, Cantonese, and more.

Perhaps it reminds them of home because of all the sun and gorgeous landscapes. The largest population of Greeks (apart from Athens, Greece) can be found in Australia.

Number Thirteen: Australia is Greener Than People Think

The country is covered by seven million square kilometers of vegetation. That is over 90% of Australia! And most of the exotic plants and flowers that exist that cannot be found anywhere else on the planet, and is completely unique to the area.

Number Twelve: Kangaroo Meat

Yes, people actually eat kangaroo meat. It turns out this is a healthier and leaner choice than beef or other meats available. You can purchase it at your local restaurant, grocery store, or butcher.

Number Eleven: They Have the Largest Cattle Station on Earth

This exists in Southern Australia and covers over 34,000 square kilometers. This place is larger than the entire country of Belgium, to give you an idea of its size.

Number Ten: Australians Love to Gamble

They have the highest gambling rate in the world. over 80% of them engage in some form of it, and 20% of the world’s poker machines exist in the land down under.

Number Nine: They’re Progressive

Australia was the second nation to give women voting rights in 1902. The first country was New Zealand, and it didn’t take long for the rest of the world to follow their example.
