We already brought you part one of our list of 15 things you probably did not know about The Bachelor, and now we’re back with part two! Check out eight more fascinating facts about the popular longstanding reality show that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!

Number Eight: The Picnics Aren’t Just There to Be Cute

Yes, there’s a reason you see so many picnics on the show, and it’s not because they’re romantic. The scenery looks great on camera and is meant to foster deep conversation, making a beautiful shot.

Number Seven: The Bachelor Gets What He Wants

But is this really that surprising? Though the bachelor’s are deprived of a lot of things – the internet, their family, etc. – they can usually get what they want if they ask for it. One such bachelor was able to gain internet access after he borrowed a producer’s iPad.

Number Six: The Proposal Sites Aren’t Real

It’s true! The picturesque ponds and bridges where the bachelors propose are carefully constructed to look pristine and gorgeous. However, they don’t actually exist in nature.

Number Five: Some Interviews Are Filmed Months After the Fact

Though the interviews showed between cuts appear to be taken minutes after or before the moment being shown, the truth is that they’re sometimes filmed months after the fact. The producers keep track of what the bachelor wears to make sure there aren’t any inconsistencies in the interviews.

Number Four: The Producers Encourage Contestants to Drink

It’s no secret that alcohol can cause some loose lips, so the producers on the show feed the contestants booze to make it as entertaining as possible. They have been known to offer contestants wine or champagne as early as noon.

Number Three: The Rose Ceremonies Last a Very Long Time

While the ceremonies appear to last for just a brief period of an hour or so, they often last until four or six – in the morning! The next days on the show are often “dark” days for the contestants and don’t involve much filming.

Number Two: The Mansion Isn’t Glamorous at All

Though the ladies are kept looking glamorous and the outdoor shots of the mansion make it seem nice and spacious, it’s important to keep in mind that 25 girls are living there. There are only two bathrooms in the mansion – imagine that!

Number One: There’s Absolutely No Privacy

The contestants have microphones put on them from the time they wake up until the time they go to bed and there are very few opportunities to get a moment alone. This undoubtedly contributes to the increased emotional tension many contestants experience. We hope you enjoyed our list of 15 things you didn’t know about The Bachelor!
