We already brought you part one of our series on James Bond. Since there is so much more to learn about this mysterious man, here are a few more interesting things about him.

Number Eight: James Bond Was Named For a Bird Expert

The original author of the James Bond series, Ian Fleming, chose an interesting choice for Bond’s name inspiration. He is named after a bird expert and Fleming said he chose him because he wanted Bond to appear as a dull and uninteresting person but things happened to.

Number Seven: Bond Had Some Women Power On Set

Bond may appear to make all the decisions on screen, but most of them are made by a woman. The female producer, Barbara Broccoli, made all of the casting choices for Bond’s girls and the story line.

Number Six: Plot Lines Have Been Repeated

If You are sporadically watching the Bond movies, you may not pick up on similar plot lines. But two of the movies, Never Say Never Again and Thunderball actually have the same exact plot. Go figure Sean Connery played Bond in both films 18 years apart.

Number Five: James Bond Should Be Dead Many Times Over

Avoiding one bullet is enough of a close call for anyone, except James Bond that is. Agent 007 has been shot at 4,662 times and has somehow managed to stick around.

Number Four: Bond and His Author Have Something In Common

There are not many people out there who can say that they have something in common with James Bond. One man can, and that would be the series’ own author. Fleming was a secret agent during World War II and was a commander o special unit 30 AU.

Number Three: He’s A Smoker

It used to be classy to light a cigarette in a movie, but that trend has since fallen out of fashion. That has not stopped James Bond from lighting over 70 cigarettes a day, though.

Number Two: Bond Has Been Turned Down

Anyone given the chance to play James Bond on screen would jump at the chance, or would they? Actors Burt Reynolds, Clint Eastwood and Adam West were all asked if they wanted the role and all three turned it down saying that Bond should be played by a British actor.

Number One: His Victim Count Is High

If James Bond is on a mission, he is completing it. And looking at his victim count, he’s good at it. In all of the films combined, he has killed 352 with Pierce Brosnan being the deadliest Bond. He killed 47 people alone. Thanks for reading!
