Welcome to the list of the top 10 richest NBA players. In part one, we’ll cover five of the wealthiest players to play the game in recent history. Everyone knows that professional athletes make a ton of money, but if you’re curious just how much the superstars of the National Basketball Association make, read below.
Number Ten: NBA Player Carmelo Anthony
The New York Knicks superstar has been in the league for about a decade now, and even though that first championship has eluded the offensively versatile forward, the man nicknamed Melo has done well for himself financially in the league, having earned $135,000,000 in salary alone.
Number Nine: Steve Nash
Steve Nash is one of the premiere point guards to play the game. His combination of passing ability and shooting accuracy from all over the floor has made him one of the most memorable floor generals of our time. He also happened to make $137,000,000 in his career.
Number Eight: Dwyane Wade
Wade has won three championships with the Miami Heat, and it’s not necessarily certain that he won’t win more – even without Shaq or LeBron. But the Chicago native can know that he’s definitely made his impact on the league, and if that’s not enough to soothe his spirit, his $121,000,000 should help.
Number Seven: Ray Allen
Ray Allen will forever be known to basketball film fans as Jesus. Jesus Shuttlesworth, that is – the main character of Spike Lee’s He Got Game. But when Ray Allen wasn’t busy acting in basketball-themed movies, he was busy hitting three-point field goals for a number of teams. And making a total of $184 million over his career.
Number Six: Dwight Howard
Dwight Howard is arguably the player on this list who has yet to truly find a home on an NBA team. A consistently intimidating presence at the center position for the past decade, Howard is another superstar who has yet to find himself an elusive championship – but he has found himself $123 million in NBA earnings alone. That’s it for part one of our list of the top 10 richest NBA players, but check back for part two, coming soon!
