Number Fifteen: Tyler Was Going To Be Written Off
Tyler’s character was written as a supporting role only. As the story developed so did his character. They created the Hybrid storyline and decided to stick with it.
Number Fourteen: Ian Somerhalder Auditioned For Another Show
Could you imagine anyone else being Damon? That’s what almost happened. Ian auditioned for True Blood on HBO. Lucky us he didn’t get the part!
Number Thirteen: Dawson Auditioned For Alaric
Yes, it’s true. For those of us that remember Dawson’s Creek with James Van Der Beek, he was auditioned to play the role of Alaric.
Number Twelve: Ashlee Simpson Auditioned
Ashlee Simpson auditioned to be Elena. You heard right, Jessica Simpson’s younger sister wanted to play the doppelganger. Looks like Simpson had a little more success with her singing career than her acting career.
Number Eleven: Salvatore Was Not the Original Last Name Choice
Damon and Stefan’s last name, Salvatore, was originally going to be Whitmore. They decided to keep Salvatore to stay in sync with the book.
Number Ten: Jeremy Is Older
Steven McQueen, who plays Jeremy, is actually older than Nina Dobrev. So technically he is her older brother. Most people don’t know this!
Number Nine: Fans Could Call Isobel on The Vampire Diaries
The Vampire Diaries had a real treat for fans. In Season 2, episode 12, Isobel’s (Elena’s birth mother) phone number was revealed. If you called the number you would have heard a message from Damon, Stefan and Elena.
Number Eight: Matt’s A Dad
Matt who is played by Zach Roerig is a dad in real life. He has full custody of his daughter since her mother is currently incarcerated. Stay tuned for part two, coming soon!
