Number Eight: His Friend Testified Against Him

Former friend of Lance and cyclist Frankie Andreu testified against Armstrong out of retaliation. Apparently Lance called Frankie’s wife fat, so Andreu couple testified against him in 1996, telling doctors he doped with growth hormone and steroids.

Number Seven: He’s the Aerobic Master in Sports

There’s a reason Lance Armstrong is a cyclist. He has the aerobic capacity of 83.8 mL/kg/min. This is much higher than the average’s person aerobic capacity.

Number Six:  He Turned Pro Before Most Kids Get Their First Job

Lance Armstrong let everyone know he was serious when he won the Iron Kids Triathlon at just 13 years old. When he turned 16 years old he was considered a professional athlete.

In 2015, The Program was released. A French and British biographical drama about Armstrong. Despite its criticism and not being well-received, it had big names such as Dustin Hoffman, Chris O’Dowd, and Ben Foster who played Armstrong.

Number Four: He Was Laughed at in His First Professional Race

Lance entered his first professional European race, called the San Sebastian Classic. It was one day and held in Spain. It was a rainy day and finished last, 27 minutes behind the winner. The crowd laughed at his expense.

Number Three: He Bros Out With Matthew McConaughey

If there’s one actor you see next to Armstrong in most media photos, it’s his friend Matthew McConaughey. Both men from Texas, are known for their longtime bromance. In 2013, McConaughey revealed he was upset at Lance for his scandal at first, but then understood his need to come clean to the public and start a new chapter in his life.

He told Oprah and many of his fans worldwide he will spend the rest of his life apologizing. He also said he wants to earn back the trust of the public.
