Courteney Cox started her acting career in the music video for Bruce Springeent’s “Dancing in the Dark.” Exactly 10 years later, the entire world knew her as Monica Geller. Friends catapulted her into stardom and placed her on top of the all-time highest paid TV actresses. Here are 15 things you might not know about the actress! Stay tuned for part two, coming soon.

Number Fifteen: Courteney Cox’s Celebrity Crush

Johnny Depp is Cox’s all-time favorite actor and she finds him terribly attractive (duh.) “Don’t get me wrong, I’m in love with my husband, but Johnny Depp is adorable!”

Number Fourteen: Tracy Anderson Method Practitioner

Cox works out by the Tracy Anderson method, which consists of a 30 to 60-minute routine at least six days a week. Other followers of the method are Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna, Shakira and Jennifer Lopez.

Number Thirteen: Courteney Cox Had Eye Surgery

Cox claims getting laser eye surgery saved her career. Before the surgery, she was severely short-sighted—she couldn’t read the autocue, nor tell her Friends co-stars Lisa Kudrow and Jennifer Aniston apart.

Number Twelve: She Wasn’t Going to Be Monica

She was originally offered the role of Rachel in Friends, but she turned it down. Cox was really interested in playing Monica, so the writers rewrote the character to accommodate it to Cox.

Number Eleven: She Holds a Strange Record

She was the first person to ever say the word “period” (meaning the bodily function) in American television. That was in a Tampax commercial in 1985.

Number Ten: She Can Play Instruments

Courteney Cox plays the piano and drums. In 1995’s MTV Movie Awards, she opened the ceremony with a drum solo.

Number Nine: She’s a House Flipper

The actress likes to buy old houses, renovate them and then put them back on the market. That way she gets a generous profit out of the transaction. In 2013, she sold her Malibu mansion for $10 million more than what she originally paid for.

Number Eight: She Contributed to Natalee Holloway’s Investigations

Natalee Holloway was an American teenager who went missing while on vacation in the Caribbean. Courteney Cox, who attended the same school as Holloway, donated money towards the investigation, which is still unsolved. Stay tuned for part two, coming soon!
