Two talent booking agencies have become one as of yesterday. The Agency Group (TAG), one of the world’s leading live music booking agencies, recently acquired Nashville-based talent booking firm, The Bobby Roberts Company. As one of Nashville’s respected boutique agencies, The Bobby Roberts Company represents about 30 country artists, including Blackjack Billy, Merle Haggard, John Anderson, Bobby Bare, BJ Thomas, Marty Stuart, Pam Tills, Lorrie Morgan, John Michael Montgomery, Chris Jansen and many more. BRC’s 10-person staff will join The Agency Group with their respective clients. Founder Bobby Roberts will continue being involved in the booking agency’s operations as a strategic consultant in Nashville. His wife Diane Roberts, the Chief of Operations at BRC, plans to retire. TAG will also send newly-appointed vice-president Lance Roberts to Nashville, alongside booking agents Travis James, Josh Garrett, Matt Rizor and Alec Vidmar.

Why is Agency group making the move towards the country music hub of Nashville? Gavin O’Reilly, Agency Group’s CEO says “We see Nashville as a vital music hub and an essential ingredient in our global strategy. The addition of The Bobby Roberts Company’s roster to our list of internationally acclaimed country artists solidifies our place within the genre.” TAG’s Founder and Worldwide President, Neil Warnock adds, “Nashville, the home of so many music legends, has always been a central ambition of The Agency Group to increase our presence here and with the Bobby Roberts Company joining us it will bring even greater strength and purpose going forward.” The Agency Group’s expansion in Nashville also marks the second anniversary of the booking agency’s Nashville office. Now that group has new staff, the Nashville office will shift to a booking system based on territories (as opposed the “responsible agent” model, in which one agent is responsible for all of his or her client bookings) Territories will be allocated as follows:
Lance Roberts: TN, ND, SD, NE, KS, MN, IA, MO, WI, IL
Travis James: MI, IN, OH, KY, WV, PA, NY, VT, ME, NH, MA, CT, RI, NJ
Scott Galloway: AR, LA, TX, OK, MN
Josh Garrett: FL, MS, AL, GA, SC, NC, VA, TN, MD, DE
Alex Vidmar: (Performing Arts Centers) WA, OR ,MT, ID, WY, CO, UT, NV, CA, AZ, AK, HI
Justin Hill: WA, OR, MT, ID, WY, CO, UT, NV, CA, AZ, AK, HI
Nick Meinema: Canada

Overall, the acquisition appears mutually beneficial for TAG and BRC. Bobby Robert’s clients will immediately gain more clout in the industry, and artists will have greater tools for international platform. the Agency Group book almost 50,000 shows per year in more than 60 different nations, and their sponsorship partners and tour marketing department will open up more opportunities for BRC’s artists. TAG Nashville’s vice President believes the partnership will allow the Agency Group to “be more forged into the country music community” and hopes that TAG will be a “particular and unique” presence in Nashville.
