Agents of SHIELD has become one of the most highly-regarded shows on ABC. Though the first episode aired just in 2013, it has gained a massive following and is watched by millions. However, despite the fact that the show has spent a considerable amount of time in the spotlight and under the scrutiny of the public eye, there are still some things that many people don’t know. With that in mind, here we present our list of 15 things you probably didn’t know about Agents of SHIELD. Check out part one below, and stay tuned for part two, coming soon!

Number Fifteen: The Costumes Are Designed to Evolve With the Show. The costume designer for Agents of SHIELD purposefully designs the characters’ costumes to develop as the character develops with the show.

Number Fourteen: There’s a Reason the Music Sounds Familiar. If you get deja vu every time you watch the show, there’s a reason. The composer for Agents of SHIELD is none other than the same man who composed music for both Battlestar Galactica and The Walking Dead.

Number Thirteen: The Show Isn’t Set on Earth. In fact, the show takes place in Marvel’s cinematic universe, which is also known by comic book fans as Earth 199999.

Number Twelve: Two Agents Share Their Birthdays With the Actors Who Play Them. It’s true! Agents Jemma Simmons and Grant Ward have the same birthdays as the people who play them – Elizbeth Henstridge and Brett Dalton, respectively.

Number Eleven: Two Characters Were Inspired by Ocean’s ElevenThe characters of scientists Fitz and Simmons, played by Iain De Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge, were inspired by the characters of the Malloy brothers in Ocean’s Eleven.

Number Ten: Brett Dalton Went to Clown School. Dalton plays Agent Ward, and apparently, he actually went to clown school! Maybe his education helps him with his stunts.

Number Nine: The Actors Didn’t Know Much Backstory When They Started. Before they began filming, the core actors really didn’t know much about their characters. According to Ming-Na Wen, she was only told her character’s name and a very brief synopsis of her character’s life.
