Alicia Keys and her husband and producer Kaseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean are expecting their second child, as well as celebrating their fourth anniversary together. They made the announcement official today by posting an Instagram photograph. Posted on both Keys’ and Swizz Beatz’ Instagram accounts, the picture shows the couple recreating their wedding look from four years ago, with a baby bump under her white dress, and the happy couple affectionately embracing. Keys’ caption to the post read,
“Happy Anniversary to the love of my life @therealswizzz !! And to make it even sweeter we’ve been blessed with another angel on the way. You make me happier than I have ever known! Here’s to many many more years of the best parts of life!” Swizz Beatz posted on his own Instagram to tell fans the good news. “Love is life & life is love and we’re so excited for another GIFT from up above Happy Anniversary my Goddess 4 years of greatness & cheers to 100 plus more inshallah @aliciakeys,” he wrote. The couple’s first child, a three-year old son, is named Egypt. They married on the French island of Corsica in 2010.
Keys was a guest on “The Wendy Williams Show” last year, where she talked in more detail about her family life. She admitted that her and Swizz Beatz’ relationship hadn’t always been so clear-cut. “It was totally different because we met when I was 16 and he was 17. A friend of ours that went to his high school was like, ‘Oh you gotta meet Swizz, and Alicia’s about to blow up and Swizz is doing his thing and maybe one day you’ll work together,'” Keys told Williams. “We’ve known each other so long, been friends for so long and been in the same industry for so long, but never thought it was like that,” she continued to Williams. “He’s actually kind of a little too ostentatious for my taste. He will wear not one but 16 chains, and he [won’t drive] a regular car, it’s the most craziest car. I think what happened was, he really got me when I saw how far his mind went.” She put it more succinctly to Marie Claire U.K.: “I think we’ve taught each other a lot. He’s taught me to live more fully, and I think I’ve taught him to live more deeply.”
